Dear eRum2020 Community,

We hope you are all safe and healthy. COVID-19 is affecting our lives all over the world and eRum2020 is no exception. The Organizing Committee has been working very hard to come up with possible solutions, but in such an uncertain time we have to adapt, and quickly, to the changes all around us.

We have therefore decided to consider a different route to make our event happen:  eRum2020 will be the first fully virtual R conference for hundreds of participants. To mark this change, we have decided to rename eRum2020 into e-Rum2020!

We feel this is the most responsible choice for all members of the community, putting the health and safety of all participants in the first place. 

The event will take place on 17th-20th June 2020, a bit later than originally planned, as we need a bit of time to adjust to the new format.  Our challenge is to create an event as similar as possible to what an in-person conference would have been, but safekeeping everyone’s health. 

A byproduct of these changes is that we have decided to make participation to the conference free! Further information regarding the registration process will be published on May 15. Instructions on how to ask for a full refund of already purchased tickets will follow.

We are currently working hard to sort out all the details that this big change entails. We plan to get back to you with more details as soon as possible. Keep an eye on the website and our social media channels for the latest updates!

In the meantime a big GRAZIE for the support you have shown so far: it is this great community that is giving us the motivation to keep going, against all odds, including a pandemic!
